Warwickshire Secondary Book Award 2017


Year 7 and Year 8 students from Avon Valley School have been taking part in the Warwickshire Secondary Book Award. Their challenge was to read all six of the shortlisted books and vote for their favourite.
As a reward for their dedication to the Award and to hear the winner of the Award announced the students attended a ceremony at the Bridge House Theatre in Warwick.
Guest speaker at the Award Ceremony was Stewart Foster, author of the fiction book ‘The Bubble Boy’ The students were able to meet Stewart after the Ceremony when he signed books and bookmarks for them.
During the Ceremony AVS students gave a presentation on the stage about their favourite book ‘The Nest’ by Kenneth Oppel.
The winner of the Award was ‘The Boy at the Top of the Mountain’ by John Boyne.
